笔架山坐落在渤海锦州湾中的笔架山风景区，时国家4A级旅游风景名胜。神奇的笔架山天桥堪称世界奇观、天下一绝。
笔架山是一座海岛，地貌学上称为陆连岛。笔架山岛南北长1120米，东西最宽处220米，海拔78.3米。
在笔架山风景区，流传着“盘古开天，笔架成山”，以及“仙女造桥”等一系列优美的神话传说，给笔架山和天桥增添了及其神秘的色彩。
正门
笔架山风景区的正门也叫海门，由清华大学设计，南侧是彩虹式拱形龙门，象征着“天桥”；北侧是两把金钥匙造型，寓意着金钥匙打开景区大门，让游客跨上天桥登临神秘的笔架山岛。
天桥
这座“仙女造桥”雕像，就来源于仙女造桥”的神话传说，说是天宫中有两位九天仙女，为了方便笔架山岸边的人们上山采药，偷偷地从天宫下凡，在海岸和笔架山之间抛撒下无数的珍珠，造成了今天的天桥。
这条潮汐和海浪冲击而形成的海中天然连岛砂石坝，人称“天桥”。笔架山海上天桥长约1620米，平均宽9米，平均高出海滩约1.48米，随着大海的潮涨潮落，天桥就像蜿蜒的蛟龙时隐时现。涨潮时，海水带着波浪从两边不断地向天桥夹击，天桥就向一条蜿蜒的蛟龙慢慢地潜入海中，成为一片汪洋。落潮时，海水慢慢地向两边退去，笔架山天桥就像隐身在大海里的蛟龙，渐渐地浮出海面，游人可以蹚着海水，踩着浪花，漫步登上笔架山岛。
笔架山海滨的潮汐，是典型的、规律性的“半日潮”，24小时潮水涨落两次，从而成就了笔架山海上天桥最独特之处。在世界上，自然形成的天桥还有一处，就是韩国的“珍岛天桥”，但韩国的“珍岛天桥”每年仅仅露出海面两次，每次三五个小时。我们锦州的笔架山天桥真正是世界唯一的每天露出两次的陆连岛砂石坝自然奇观。
大家看，前面的笔架山岛恰似一座笔架柱海魔天，三峰列峙，在大海之中孤岛独秀，真是令人称奇。
真人观
这座真人观，由笔架山开山祖师朱洁贞的弟子于1939年建成，是为纪念道号玉清真人的朱洁贞羽化升天所建，真人观内藏着朱洁贞的真尸。
吕祖亭
于1938年建成的吕祖亭，一层供奉的神像是“八仙过海”传说中的两位神仙，东为汉钟离，西为吕洞宾。二层供奉的是太乙救苦天尊，也叫十方救苦天尊。吕祖亭南面的平坦之处，曾经是明朝的守军屯粮之所。明清松锦大战时期，皇太极派人夺取了明军囤积在此的粮草，致使明军大败。
盘古开天广场
大家可以看到盘古当年开天的两把巨斧的雕塑，传说笔架山是当年盘古开天站脚之处。雕塑基座上雕刻着“盘古开天，笔架成山”的神话故事。传说盘古开天辟地时，从斧把上掰下两块小木片扔到海里，不一会就出现大小两个小岛，盘古将脚踩在上面，竟将原本高耸的两个海岛从中间踩塌成了山腰，后人称之为大、小笔架山。
三清阁
前面的三清阁高6层，总高26.2米，是全国规模最大的全石结构建筑，6层上下没有一钉一木，是我国建筑史上规模最大的全石结构的建筑。
三清阁里的汉白玉石人物雕像和浮雕，来源于道教、佛教、儒家和中国民间崇拜的众多神灵，甚至古典小说《封神榜》中“阐教”“截教”的多路神仙也在这里供奉。
三层供奉的是孔子。四层供奉着清元君。五层供奉着道教的最高神“三清”，面西而坐的是玉清元始天尊，面东而坐的是上清灵宝天尊，面南而坐的是太清道德天尊。除“三清”之外，面北而坐的是慈航道人（就是佛教中的观音）。
三清阁的最高层，供奉着中国古代传说中的开天辟地之神盘古，是中国唯一的海上盘古造像。三清阁这座盘古像，冠顶头饰上有吉祥神鸟，左眼是太阳，右眼是月亮，双耳和两个鼻孔、嘴巴是五条小龙，座下是一条奔腾的巨龙，托盘古于滔滔渤海中的仙岛之上，真是一位威风凛凛、开天辟地的至尊天神。
